We already knew that Lava was planning to launch the Intel Medfield powered smartphone. Today, Intel and Lava finally announced the rumored Intel Medfield powered Lava XOLO X900 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012 in Barcelona. This handset will be first launched in India. The Lava XOLO X900 runs on the old Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) Operating System. However, we are not sure if the device will get the Android 4.0 update in the near future.
“India is one of the fastest-growing smartphone markets with the world’s second-largest mobile subscriber base,” said Mike Bell, Intel vice president and general manager of the Mobile and Communications Group. “We are pleased to be working with Lava to bring the best of Intel computing to the India market. Lava’s XOLO X900 device is a great result of our collaboration. It also demonstrates how innovative and compelling products can be brought to market through strong partnerships by using Intel’s smartphone reference design as a foundation.”
Earlier, it was rumored that the Lava’s Medfield powered handset will feature a 3.5 inch display, However, the Lava XOLO X900 comes with a large 4.03 inch LCD touchscreen display. It also features a 1.6GHz Atom Z2460 processor, 8 megapixel rear camera, HD (720p) video recording and playback, front-facing camera for video calls, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G Connectivity, NFC (Near Field Communication), HDMI, and much more.
The complete specs of this device is currently not available. However, we will update the post as soon as we get the complete specs, official pics, and videos. The Lava XOLO X900 will be launched in India during the Q2 of 2012. The price of this handset will be announced later.
