Huawei U8860 Gets a “Beta” Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Update!
Huawei, a company popularly known for making cheap Chinese smartphones or 3G/CDMA modems, has done something which no one expected it to do. The company has released a beta build of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its U8860 Android based handset. While all other popular handsets like the Galaxy S II, HTC Sensation and EVO 3D etc. unofficial ICS ports are stuck at some point due to some driver issues, Huawei has managed to release a beta ICS build for one of their handsets.
Its kind of surprising to see a Chinese handset maker beat all other big shot companies like Samsung, Motorola and HTC in releasing an Android 4.0 update for their handset. This is also probably the first time that a company has released a betasoftware update. All o
Huawei U8860 owners can find the download link and the installation steps of the update here. Since the update is still marked as a beta, Huawei has also mentioned the steps to downgrade back to Gingerbread, if a user wishes to do so.
