Most of the budget smartphones are launched only in emerging markets such as India, China and Latin America. So HTC decided to launch the HTC Smart, a budget smartphone in the US. This phone will be first launched in India and it is expected to be available during the end of this month.
HTC Smart is based on Brew Mobile operating system and it runs on a 300 MHz processor. It comes with a 3.15 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, a 2.8 inches TFT touchscreen display, stereo FM radio with RDS, 3G Connectivity, 256MB RAM, 256MB ROM, USB, GPRS/EDGE and so on.
Other feature includes Bluetooth, 3.5 mm audio jack, audio and video player, Sense UI, Accelerometer, 16 GB expandable memory, 1100 mAh battery, upto 450 hours stand-by time and 7 hours talk-time. This handset does not comes with a Wi-Fi connectivity and A-GPS support.
This handset is expected to be announced early next month in the US. This handset will come with a price tag of around $200.
