HTC to Launch Quad Core Android Tablet at MWC 2012
HTC, which was the first manufacturer to launch an Android smartphone, hasn’t been very interested in the tablet market so far. Its only major attempts at capturing the exploding tablet market have been half hearted ones – the HTC Flyer and the HTC Jetstream.
Samsung, Motorola and many others have launched Android tablets, but only Samsung seems to be having any luck selling them. Rumors have been floating around for months that HTC is working on a new tablet, but nothing has come out of it so far.
However, according to a new report by the Commercial Times in China, HTC is prepping a quad core Android tablet for launch in February 2012, at the Mobile World Congress. Apparently, it will be powered by Nvidia Tegra 3, like most other high end tablets slated to launch in 2012.
The tablet will launch with two new HTC Android smartphones, one of which will also be powered by Nvidia Tegra 3.
Assuming that HTC will want it to be the best, at least in terms of hardware, it will have 2 GB of RAM, and 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage.
The two smartphones may be the rumored HTC Edge and the HTC Ville. All the devices will likely run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
We will be covering the event here at Techie-Buzz. Stay tuned.
