After the HTC Wildfire and the Wildfire S, it seems that HTC is working on yet another budget Android smartphone. Today, XDA.cn unveiled some leaked images of the HTC Pico, as well as some hardware specifications.
The HTC Pico will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and the HTC Sense UI. It will be powered by the Qualcomm MSM 7227 600 MHz processor and will come with 384 MB RAM. It will sport a 3.2 inch display with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. It will also have a 5 MP camera with autofocus and LED flash, and will come with a 2 GB microSD card. It will offer GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity. It will also have a 1230 mAh battery.
Though the hardware spec sheet seems unimpressive, the HTC Pico will be priced in the lower end of the budget category. The exact pricing and availability details are yet to be disclosed.
If priced right, both the HTC Pico could potentially be a successful device. The HTC Wildfire, one of the first good budget Android smartphones, was a reasonable hit. HTC is probably betting on the Pico to repeat its success.
