HTC Hero Android 2.1 OTA Update For Europe Users
HTC has released a Firmware and Android 2.1 OS update for HTC Hero users in Europe. The new Android update will be available Over-The-Air (OTA).

HTC has been phasing the Android 2.1 update to users and users in US already received their updates through Sprint. Earlier this month Asian users of HTC Hero received an update and starting today HTC Hero European users in EU, Denmark, Greece, Ireland, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and Belgium will start getting the Android 2.1 OTA updates.
The Android 2.1 update for Hero took quite a while, however don’t expect anything more. HTC Hero users will not be receiving a Android 2.2 Froyo as far as US users are concerned, so you might have to root your device if you want to use Froyo.
