HTC HD2 is probably one of the most awaited Windows mobile device which will be released later this month on T-mobile. HTC HD2 has a 1Ghz Processor, 4.3-inch TFT capacitive touch display, 512 MB ROM, 448 MB RAM, EDGE, 3G, Windows Media Player, Digital compass, Pocket Office, HTC Peep, HTC Footprints, Facebook and Twitter integration, A-GPS and an excellent 5 mega-pixel camera with autofocus and dual LED flash.

A XDA forum member spotted the price of the HD2 in fine print on the T-mobile site. The fine print states:

†On approved credit. $112.50 down payment, plus 3 monthly payments of $112.50, required. 0% APR. Taxes & fees additional. Available only at T-Mobile-owned retail stores; see store for details.

††On approved credit. $22.50 down payment, plus 19 monthly payments of $22.50, required. 0% APR. Taxes & fees additional. Available only at T-Mobile-owned retail stores; see store for details.

Totaling both of these puts the price of HTC HD2 at $450 without a contract. The HTC HD2 will be subsidized at $200 when you buy it with a 2 year T-mobile contract. An unlocked HTC HD2 sells for more than $700 on Amazon, so getting at $450 is definitely a bargain.

So would buy the HTC HD2 when it starts selling in the states? What would you prefer a contracted phone or a non-contracted phone?
