HTC Desire S Announced; Sports An Aluminum Body

Along with the Incredible S, HTC also announced the successor to the Desire the Desire S. The Desire S is very similar to its predecessor except that this time the phone is sculpted from a single block of aluminum, like the HTC Legend. The handset sports a 3.7-inch S-LCD with WVGA (800×480) resolution.

Like the Incredible S, the Desire S is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU with Adreno 205 GPU. The handset also packs 768MB of RAM. The back of the phone sports a 5MP camera aided by a LED flash, with a 1.3MP camera in the front.

The usual Wi-Fi, GPS with A-GPS and other relevant sensor and ports are also present.  The track pad found on the original Desire is missing from the Desire S. The handset will be powered by a 1450mAh battery.

Unlike the Incredible S, the Desire S will launch with Android 2.3 Gingerbread onboard. The handset is expected to be available by the middle of Q2 of 2011.

I am totally disappointed with the Desire S. The phone hardly brings anything new on the board. Where are the dual-core CPUs HTC? No high resolution screens? No AMOLED screens? Nothing!
