HTC have just announced the Desire HD at their on-going event in London. The Desire HD is the European version of the highly popular EVO 4G. The handset sports a mammoth 4.3-inch screen with a resolution of 800×480. The device is made up of aluminum and according to me looks stellar! The Desire HD is powered by a 1 GHz 8255 Snapdragon processor and packs in 768 of RAM along with 1.5GB of internal memory.
The phone also sports the usual 3G with HSPA+, Wi-Fi n, Bluetooth etcetera. A 3.5mm jack, FM radio and support for Dolby Digital is present as well. The Desire HD also sports an 8MP camera at its back with dual-LED flash. The device is also capable of recoding videos in 720p HD format. The Desire HD will also be among the first phones from HTC to feature the new HTCSense.com services.
The device will be powered by a 1230mAh battery. This means Desire HD owners should prepare themselves for some disastrous battery life. The Desire HD will be running on Android 2.2 when launched. The device is expected to hit the retail stores in Europe and Asia by October.
