Today, HTC in a press release has finally announced the roll-out of Froyo update for the
Desire. The Desire is identical to the Google Nexus One, except for some subtle changes. Along with updating the Android OS to Froyo, the update brings in some other changes as well. First and foremost, this update allows users to record videos in 720p HD resolution.
The update also brings a new enhanced Caller ID screen, ability to sync using iTunes, and the other usual standard Froyo features. The software update is available Over-The-Air (OTA) and weighs in at a whooping 25MB. Nevertheless, the update will preserve all your data, and application settings. This software update will also include a new HTC Share widget, which was first seen on the Wildfire.
The update is available, effective immediately to all unlocked Desire owners. Owners of the operator locked version of the Desire need to wait for several more weeks.
