By on June 7th, 2012

HTC has just announced two budget based Ice Cream Sandwich running handsets, the Desire V and Desire VC. The Desire V and Desire VC are identical to each other, except for the difference in their baseband. While the Desire V has SIM-card slots for two GSM based networks, the VC supports one primary CDMA network along with a secondary GSM based network.

Both the handsets pack a 4-inch screen with WVGa )480*800) resolution, a 1GHz Cortex-A5 based processor from Qualcomm, Adreno 200 GPU, 512MB of RAM, a 5MP snapper aided by an LED flash that is capable of recording videos in VGA resolution along with the connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS, FM radio, 4GB internal memory, and a microSD card slot.

As stated earlier, the handsets run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Sense on top of it. The handsets wil also carry HTC’s Beats Audio logo and feature, which in practical usage is nothing but a marketing gimmick. The Desire V will launch in Asia sometime in July, while the Desire VC will launch only in China around the same time only.
