HTC have confirmed via their UK’s Facebook page, which all of its Android handsets will get the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update in the first wave.
According to the statement from HTC, the Sensation, Sensation XL, Sensation XE, the recently released Rezound, EVO 3D, EVO Design 4G and the Amaze 4G will get the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update, early next year.
Except for the Sensation XL, a dual-core processor powers all other handsets in that list. It may be possible that HTC will release the Ice Cream Sandwich update for their single core powered handsets like the Thunderbolt, Incredible 2, Desire S etc in the second wave of ICS updates. However, I am not too optimistic about HTC updating their single-core phones to Ice Cream Sandwich.
Older-gen HTC handsets, like the EVO 4G, Desire and Incredible have already reached their end-of-life, and won’t be getting the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich anyway. Its also shocking to see, that none of the tablets from HTC like the Flyer and the Jetstream made it to the first wave of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update. Hopefully, HTC will update these tablets to Ice Cream Sandwich sooner or later.
