A new forum topic on the Android forum suggests that most of the HTC devices including HTC Desire, HTC Droid Eris, HTC EVO 4G, HTC Hero and others may get the Android 2.2 Froyo update after June 2010.

According to the response the forum member got, the HTC rep has mentioned that the new software updates for HTC devices will be coming in the second half of this year.

There have also been other rumors that HTC Desire will be getting a Android 2.2 update on June 23rd, however, based on my past experiences these things cannot be really confirmed upon, and such conversations were also done with the Sprint HTC Hero upgrade for Android 2.1 was due.

If you have an HTC device don’t get too upset about the Android 2.2 update coming out after June. Given the amount of developers who are furiously working to get a working root, you might be able to use Android 2.2 on your HTC device much earlier than that.
