GTA 3 Hits The Android Market; Costs a Mere $4.99!

Folks, its finally here! Rockstar Games has finally released GTA 3 for Android phones! Yes, its the same full blown GTA game that you used to play back in your teens, killing bad guys, doing all sort of crazy stuffs and what not. The company has released GTA 3 so as to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this critically acclaimed game.

Rockstar has done a remarkable job in porting GTA 3 to Android handsets. On my Samsung Galaxy S2, the game was utterly smooth without any lags. Just a word of caution though, the game downloads an extra 300MB+ of data after you purchase it from the Android Market. So please make sure that your phone is supported by the game prior to buying it.

The game only supports a dual-core powered  Android  handsets including the HTC Rezound, LG Optimus 2X, Motorola Atrix 4G, Droid X2, Photon 4G, Galaxy R, T-Mobile G2X and the Galaxy S2. The only single core phone which is capable of running GTA 3 is the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. The game also supports all the Tegra 2 powered Android tablets out there as well, along with support for selected USB gamepads.

The game does not support the Galaxy Nexus, but Rockstar is working hard on adding support for the Galaxy Nexus and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

GTA 3 is available in the Android Market for a mere $4.99.
