San Mateo D.A Returns Items Seized From Gizmodo Editor
By on July 16th, 2010

Apple The EFF is reporting that the San Mateo police will return all items seized from the house of Gizmodo Editor, Jason Chen. The San Mateo police raided Jason Chen’s house after Apple filed an official complaint regarding the theft of an iPhone 4 unit, which was purchased by Gizmodo.

While this is most likely an entirely unrelated event, the timing certainly suites Apple quite well. Over the past few weeks, Apple has receiving a lot of heat from the blogosphere as well as the mainstream press for iPhone 4 hardware and software issues. Any amount of positive publicity will be certainly be welcomed by Apple.

Nevertheless, the withdrawal of the warrant doesn’t necessarily mean the end of the matter. The case is still open and the police can still move forward with it.
