Unboxing the Spice Dream UNO, the Android One smartphone

In a press event in New Delhi today, Google unveiled the first set of Android One smartphones from Micromax, Karbonn, and Spice in India. We take a look at the Spice Dream UNO Mi-498.


The Spice Dream UNO box has a prominent Android One branding, and also lists the advantages of the program at the back. There’s always the latest version of Android on an Android One device, and the device will receives updates for up to 2 years.


The box packs in of course the phone and the removable battery, and the usual suspects – an in-ear headset, a detachable USB charge/sync cable, and a power adapter. There’s a user manual, a warranty card, and a list of authorized service centers. Spice also bundles in a screen protector in the box, although skips a phone case or cover as is common with most budget smartphones from Indian OEMs.
