ESET, a popular desktop Antivirus and internet security software, is making it’s foray into the Smartphone market with the introduction of ESET Mobile Antivirus for Symbian.

This new mobile antivirus solution will protect against a variety of threats on Symbian based smartphones. Considering that many people use their mobile phones extensively for day to day and other important activities, having proper protection is becoming necessary.

ESET Mobile Antivirus performs archive scanning, on-access scanning and on-demand scanning, to keep your Smartphone safe and secure.

In addition to that, updates are performed daily, weekly or monthly, in addition to on-demand to keep your mobile phone updated with all the virus definitions.

ESET’s scanner is pretty user friendly and probably a no-brainer for many people. I installed the antivirus on my Smartphone and had it up and running in under 5 minutes.

For a limited time, you can download the ESET Mobile antivirus for free. However, please note that the software is currently in beta. You might experience problems or bugs while using it.

ESET Mobile Antivirus will work on Symbian S60 3rd edition, feature pack 1 and 2 and Symbian S60 5th edition. Please note, you will have to sign up for the beta software and activate it on your phone before you can use this software.
