By on October 20th, 2010

Reuters is reporting that E.A has acquired Chillingo, the producer of the extremely popular mobile game Angry Birds. Electronic Arts has confirmed the agreement, and it’s said the company is shelling out in the area of $20 million for the deal. In addition to Angry Birds, Chillingo publishes another popular game entitled Cut the Rope.

Angry Birds is available for all major smartphone platforms, and with the recent Android client released roughly a week ago seeing over 1 million downloads in 24 hours, EA is making quite a substantial move further into the mobile gaming market.
