Earlier today Microsoft and Nokia announced the availability of the Silverlight application for Symbian based phones. Silverlight is cross-browser, cross-platform implementation of the .NET Framework for building media experiences and rich interactive applications for the Web on desktop computers.
With the beta release of Silverlight for Symbian, users who have phones running on the Nokia Symbian^1 (S60 5th Edition) platform (Nokia 5800, Nokia N97 and Nokia N97 Mini) will be able to run rich media applications on their mobile phones.
Users can run Silverlight applications from Bing and Seesmic which are created using Silverlight and also choose from other available Silverlight applications.
Silverlight for Symbian^1 is currently in beta and can be downloaded from Nokia Labs.
