Nokia’s Lead Imaging Experience Manager – Damian Dinning – Leaves The Company To Join Land Rover
By on November 24th, 2012

There is absolutely no doubt that Nokia is light years ahead of other OEMs when it comes to providing stellar camera performance in mobile phones. The Nokia N8′s performance is still unrivalled by any smartphone in the market, and no handset comes even close to the Pure View 808.

One of the main masterminds behind all these stellar camera phones from Nokia is Damian Dinning. Damian started working at Nokia in 2004 and has been the Finnish giant’s lead program manager for Imaging Experience. Sadly, Damian has decided to leave Nokia on November 30th, and will be joining Jaguar Land Rover group.

The official statement from Nokia UK regarding this matter -:

Following the relocation of key strategic roles to Finland, and with great reluctance, Damian Dinning has made a personal decision to leave the company effective 30 November 2012. During the past nine years, [Damian] has made many innovative and valuable contributions to Nokia, most recently as a lead program manager in our Smart Devices business. We thank him for his service to the company and certainly wish him the best.

Damian has, however, revealed as to why he will be leaving Nokia and joining Land Rover instead in response to the PureView club -:

As reported in Nokia’s own statement regarding my forthcoming departure, a number of key strategic roles have moved to Finland. My family and I are based in the UK at a stage in our lives where relocation is unfortunately not an option. I have therefore made the tremendously difficult decision after nearly 9 years with Nokia to leave the company.

Do head over to PureView Club and read Damian’s full response and why he is joining Land Rover.
