A few hours ago, BGR reported that the next-generation iPhone will offer a new form factor, bringing a radical new case design. Now, Bloomberg reports something completely different. According to Bloomberg, the next-gen iPhone will contain a faster processor and a better camera.
The device will include the A5 processor, the more powerful chip that Apple added to the iPad 2 earlier this year, along with an 8-megapixel camera, up from the 5-megapixel model in the iPhone 4, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the details aren’t public.
Bloomberg also contradicts BGR’s report by saying that the next-gen iPhone will closely resemble the iPhone 4. The next-gen iPhone is supposed to be codenamed “Telluride”.
In addition, Bloomberg has also received information about the next-gen iPad from its sources. According to their sources, Apple is testing a new version of the iPad that has a “higher resolution screen, similar to the one now used in the iPhone 4″. They also report that the resolution of the new iPad would be “about one-third higher” than the iPad 2.
I think the information Bloomberg received regarding the next-gen iPhone could very well be true. Judging by previous Apple product announcements, it looks like the next-gen iPhone will be more of an evolutionary update than a revolutionary one.
