AT&T Announces The Mid-Range ICS Droid – LG Escape

Last night, LG and AT&T announced a new budget oriented 4G LTE┬ácapable handset, the LG Escape. The handset packs a 4.3-inch LCD with IPS technology and qHD (960×640) resolution.

Internally, the Escape is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, which in all probability is the Qualcomm S4 Krait SoC. Other specs include a 5MP snapper at the back capable of recording 1080p HD videos, 1GB of RAM, NFC, 4GB of on-board storage, a microSD card slot, 1.3MP front-facing camera, Bluetooth 4.0 and a beefy 2150mAh battery.

“LG Escape allows users to capture and share whatever life sends their way with its powerful dual-core processor, true-to-life screen and smart camera features,” said James Fishler, senior vice president of marketing and go-to-market operations, LG Electronics USA. “And on AT&T’s expansive network consumers can get the best possible experience with Escape by using its LTE capabilities to the fullest.”

Thankfully, the LG Escape will be running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich when released. The handset will be available from September 16th on all AT&T retail stores for only $50 on a two-year contract.
