Yesterday, first Samsung announced that its latest Droid powered handset, the Galaxy S III, is coming to the United States in June on five major carriers. Soon after, four out of the five major carriers (Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and U.S Cellular) announced their pre-order and release dates along with the on-contract pricing of the handset. AT&T was the only one left to announce the pre-order and release date of the Galaxy S III under its network.
The blue carrier finally announced the pre-order date of June 6th for the handset, with an on-contract pricing of $199 for the 16GB version and $249.99 for the 32GB version. AT&T has however managed to get exclusive access to the red version of the Galaxy S III, which will be available sometime this Summer. The company did not announce a release date for the handset but that should not be far away as well.
The AT&T variant of the Galaxy S III will pack in a Qualcomm S4 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD, a 2100mAh removable battery, a microSD card slot, and will also support the carrier’s HSPA+ and 4G LTE network.
