Geocities Dies, XKCD Pays Homage With a Redesign

Today is the day - the legendary Yahoo Geocities will be completely shut down ^[1] in less than 24 hours from the time of writing this. And the ultra-popular web comic series XKCD ^[2] pays homage to Geocities with a total redesign of their website. The redesign totally takes one back into the past, with those flashy backgrounds, pixelated images and funky GIFs spread all over the page. We urge you to take a look at the XKCD redesign and join them in their tribute to the much loved and such an important chapter in the history of Web - Geocities.
