Load2All Allows You to Simultaneously Upload Files to Multiple Hosts

Load2All- File Uploader and SpreaderFile hosting services like Rapidshare and Megaupload have become quite the rage. In fact is among the top 25 sites according to Alexa.

These file hosting services allow users to get past email-attachment size limits and are well suited for sharing files both publicly and privately. In fact, some people also use them as a free backup service for storing vital information.

The downside is that many of these file hosting services have major download restrictions for free users. Some websites offer a limited number of download slots for each country, some tend to delete files after a short period of inactivity and some may be banned at colleges and workplaces. Hence, if you want to ensure that everyone is able to download the file, you would ideally want to upload them to multiple services. However, doing so manually is often not feasible due to time constraints.

Load2All is a free service which allows you to simultaneously upload files to as many as 8 file hosting services. At the moment Load2All supports 17 file hosting services including Rapidshare, Megaupload, HotFile, DepositFiles, Megashares and Sendspace. The best thing about Load2All is that it automatically splits the uploaded file into RAR archives if maximum file size limit for any host is exceeded. You can upload files from your computer as well as from another remote host. Rapidshare accounts (collector or premium) are also supported. This ensures that you won’t miss out on the opportunity to earn points from your uploads.

Techie Buzz Verdict

Load2All is a handy solution for regular file uploaders. Its standout feature is the ability to automatically split large files. If you have a file you wish to share, give Load2All a try. It definitely makes more sense to use Load2All, than uploading the file to a single file host.

If the answer to any of these questions is yes, check out FormSpring. It’s a brilliant tool to create question boxes in which your friends or readers can ask questions. The question boxes can then be published in Blogger, Tumblr, Facebbook or your Twitter accounts.

You can block as well as delete the questions you do not wish to answer. The brilliant thing about FormSpring is that the question box can be embedded in your blog, Twitter or Facebook account. Once you answer the questions from your Formspring account, the answers are published on your profile page.

The question box can be designed and completely customized which includes adding a background image and a logo. Here is how a sample question box looks:

Techie-Buzz Verdict

Formspring is nice and sweet. The fact that it allows anyone to ask questions in a universal way is impressive. However, it does not allow email notifications when someone asks you a question. You have to check your FormSpring account for incoming questions and answer them. This can be a bit tedious especially when you have every possible social network to check and monitor.

Create Your Own Wifi Hotspot – Connectify Updated to 1.0

connectify-program-icon A few weeks ago, I wrote about a new free application, called Connectify. It makes use of an unfinished feature in Windows 7 which allows you to create a personal wifi hotspot that can be shared with others.

* Please note that this application only works in Windows 7. You will also have to register at the Connectify website with a name and email address.

New and improved!

Recently, Connectify has been updated with a few minor features to bring it up to Version 1.0. The new and improved features include improved notification tray icons, support for more wireless cards, improved memory management, recovery from sleep/hibernate, support for multiple Windows accounts and more.

Why do I need Connectify?

I can think of at least two cases where Connectify would be nice.

If you don’t have a wireless router in your home, you won’t need one with Connectify. Any PC with a wireless card, that’s hooked up to the internet, can become a local wifi hotspot. Now you can broadcast the internet to your Xbox or wifi enabled phone or other devices.

If you happen to be at an airport or an internet cafe, you can share your connection and possibly help someone avoid being charged with a connection fee. Just don’t tell anyone that I said you can do this. I don’t know if it’s legal in all cases.

How to use Connectify

● Download the Connectify client
● Install it
● Look for the Connectify icon in the system tray

● Click on the icon once to open it

● Set the wifi name
● Set a password of 8 characters or more
● Select either Local or Wireless in the pull down (your current internet connection)
● Select either Access Point or Ad Hoc in the pull down (the new hotspot)
● Click the “Start Hotspot” button

As you can see, I’ve created a wifi hotspot named “skynet“.

Once it’s live, anyone with your password can connect to your hotspot. Connectify even identifies PCs and devices that are connected to it. You can see them in the window labeled “Connected Clients”. If you double click on a connected client, you can change the little icon next to it to make it easier to identify at a glance.

Techie-Buzz Verdict:

If you would like to share your internet connection wirelessly in your home or on the road, you could not ask for an easier way to do it. I have no problems giving this app a good recommendation.

My Zoho PC Is a Desktop UI for Zoho Services

No, Zoho is not releasing a desktop version of its applications. But, the folks at ManageEngine – a Zoho Corp division, have developed a pretty desktop-like user interface for Zoho products.

In many ways My Zoho PC (MyZPC) is a natural extension of the Zoho Office Suite. Most of the tasks performed by Zoho apps are tasks which have been traditionally performed by desktop application. MyZPC mimics your desktop and provides an experience similar to that offered by offline Office Suites.

Besides the cool factor, the biggest advantage of My Zoho PC is that it makes working with multiple apps more intuitive. Not only are you able to access apps faster, but you can work with different apps within the same browser tab. Until now switching between multiple apps within a single browser tab was possible only with a Zoho Business account.

Techie Buzz Verdict

Zoho is undoubtedly one of the most powerful and complete web-based office suites available. Thanks to the sheer quality of their products, Zoho has managed to stay competitive in a niche which is populated by offerings from both Google and Microsoft. My Zoho PC may be an unofficial product, but it does a pretty good job at extending and improving the Zoho experience. Not everyone will find this useful; MyZPC is especially pointless if you use only one or two Zoho services. But, even then you will probably want try it at least once, simply because it is nifty.
