The biggest problem video bloggers face today is the problem they have to deal with search engines not being able to index content from within the video files. This definitely has been a reason why people tend to write content rather than record it.

That problem would be a thing of the past if the Google Research product Google Election Video Search [1] gadget is successful. Google announced a new gadget [2] that recognizes speech and converts them into searchable text.

This is a great piece of innovation and we would definitely want it move forward and cover thousands of video formats, making it easier to find content, not just based on the title of the videos.

Though this gadget has been specifically created for the US Elections we would definitely see these innovations creeping up all over the web. The day search engines can recognize speech and images throughout would be the start of a new era for video blogging.
