Christmas is getting closer, and if you’ve already downloaded one or several of our Christmas apps of the year, it’s time to start looking for gifts for your friends and relatives.
If the one you’re looking a gift for is a real geek, perhaps instead of mugs or any other common presents it would be wise to give him one of the unique gadgets listed below.
1. Bluetooth Handset Gloves
If you’re looking for something really, really unique, these Bluetooth Handset Gloves are just what you need. Priced at $69.99, they are a perfect gift for any geek who likes talking on the phone. This pair of high-tech gloves has a built-in Bluetooth headset and a tiny speaker that work with Android, iOS, Windows Phone and BlackBerry smartphones, so you can use them to talk on the phone or even listen to music (you’ll have to keep your hand around your ears though).
These gloves come with a rechargeable battery that usually lasts for about 10 days in standby mode and can provide you with 20 hours of conversation. It’s made from 95% polyacrylonitrile, 3% cotton, and 2% polyester, and it comes in two colors (black and grey) and different sizes for men and women. As I’ve already mentioned, their price is $69.99, which can seem to be too high, but I guess it’s OK for a good gift for a geek.
2. Ninja Bread Men Cookie Cutters
If your geek friend likes to cook, the funny Ninja Bread Men Cookie Cutters can be a very good gift for him/her. At least ninja-shaped cookies will look great on any table! The kit includes three cutters shaped like the warriors from the famous Mortal Combat series (though they aren’t actually ninjas) and their famous strikes – Sub Zero with his Flying Head Punt, Scorpion with his Front Kick to the Spine, and Chun-Li with his famous Four Fingered Death Punch.
Quite a nice present for only $9.95 (discounted to $6 at the moment).
3. iBell
Many smartphone owners use their devices as alarm clocks, too, but the problem is – sometimes phones aren’t loud enough to wake us up in cold December mornings. This is when iBell can be useful. It’s a nice iPhone accessory take sounds like a traditional alarm clock, with that nostalgic metal ringing.
There are two versions of iBell – the usual one (offered in black and white) and the iBell Mini (offered in 5 colors – black, white, pink, orange, and blue). To make the gadget work, you need to download a free app from the App Store, too (you’ll get the link to it when you buy the device). A perfect gift for a geek who has to get up early in the morning.
4. GoPro Hero 3 spy camera
All geeks like spy things, and I can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t like to own this unique spy camera by GoPro. It’s small and light, yet it comes with ultra-sharp ƒ/2.8 6-element aspherical glass lens and can capture 12MP photos with 30 fps, and high-quality videos (1080p60, 1440p48 and 720p120, with mono sound though). It charges via USB (cable included in the box), and supports up to 64GB MicroSD cards with class 10 or higher.
The white edition of the GoPro Hero 3 is sold for $199.99, the silver version is $299.99, and the black version, which is smaller and lighter than the other two, costs $399.99. Your geek friend will love one of these as a gift – if you can afford it of course.
5. Documents Laptop Bag
If your geek friend has a laptop, the Documents Laptop Bag will make a perfect Christmas gift for him/her. It looks like the “My Documents” computer icon, so it’s very recognizable and funny.
The bag comes in three sizes (13-inch, 15-inch, and 17-inch), and they are all sold for $30. A good gift, both funny and useful!
