4 Ways to Help You Forget About Forgetting
By on October 25th, 2012

No matter who you are, or where you’re from, it’s normal to forget things. While there are plenty of gadgets to help you stay on top of these little memory issues, most of them require some effort. But fear not, as technology develops, gadgets are being created that no longer need you to remember anything. Below are 4 ways to help you forget about forgetting.

Bringrr

On more than one occasion, I have rushed out of my house, slowing myself down trying to remember everything. That long list of important objects such as keys, wallet, and phone, will need to be remembered before you are ready to go. However, if you’re travelling by car, you can now cross phone off the list with a simple gadget to help you out.

Bringrr is an easy device that will warn you if you’re driving off without a phone. It really is as stress-free as that. By plugging the Bringrr device into the cigarette lighter, it will automatically search for your phone when the ignition starts and sounds an alert if your phone isn’t plugged in.

Last Pass

Phones aren’t the only thing I forget, and passwords are another nightmare for most people. A password here, a password there — they ask for them everywhere. And just when you think you’re getting the hang of it, an important but rarely used login comes out of nowhere to throw you off guard.
There are some people who will write all their passwords down in a book, or put them in a document online. Both of which can be found and used. It’s far too much trouble to put these all together and keep them maintained. Instead, use Last Pass, an effortless plugin that will make those angry password moments a thing of the past.

Last Pass is easy to use and only takes a few minutes to set up. It will remember all your passwords and even generate some for when you no longer want to use that rehashed password you’ve been using for years. Simply follow the instructions on their website and your next step towards online enlightenment is near.

YouView

Even after a hard day at work you can still sit on the couch and remember that you forgot something important. While you were out, the new episode of Big Bang Theory was on, and even the +1 channel has played it. It’s over; you think to yourself, then give up and watch something else. But you don’t have to be defeated; there is a way to get those programs back!

A fairly new addition to digital TV is being able to record live TV, but this still requires too much effort, even if it is cool. With Youview, you don’t even need to remember having to record. It will save all the programs they show over the previous seven days. That gives you the chance to easily scroll back and watch the programs you missed or forgot to record.

It may sound too good to be true but it really isn’t. All you need to do is hook up their set top box and the job is done. And if I can get off the couch and set it up, anyone can.

Google Wallet

We’ve had TV, phones and passwords, but what about your money? If you leave your wallet at home then the chances are that the world could end. No lunch, shopping online at work or throwing some spare change to a homeless person. That’s all about to change with Google wallet as it helps you combine your phone and wallet into one handy gadget. It’s amazing for us, though the homeless guy looking for your change is screwed.
With Google wallet all your cards are stored on secure servers and useable on your phone or computer. The online payment won’t change, but now you can pay in-store with your phone by tapping an NFC point of sale terminal. As crazy as it sounds, you can now leave your wallet at home and not hate yourself for it.

These are just some of the gadgets around to help you with not having to remember. It’s another weight off your mind and far less effort than it used to be. These simple gadgets not only make things easier, but also combine to make your day stress free. Now, where are my keys?
