By on July 27th, 2012

Earlier this month, Zync launched the entry-level Zync Z-999 tablet in India for just Rs.11,990. Now, the company went a step ahead and announced its entry into the sub 4K segment with the launch its newest tablet, the Zync Z-909 plus. Unlike the Zync Z-999, this handset does not runs on the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS. The Zync Z-909 plus is powered by the old Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, thanks to its low-end specs. This tablet comes pre-loaded with Angry Birds, Ibibo and BigFlix apps.

Ashish Garg, Director, Zync Global Private Limited, said:
“Owing to the fierce competition in the tablet market with many players entering this category, we felt the need to introduce a product which does not burn a hole in the consumers pocket, yet possesses the latest technologies at an affordable cost. After having launched our earlier products in the range of 8000-1200K, we felt the sub 4K segment was fairly untouched and hence we saw the opportunity to introduce a product in the price bracket of 4K.”

Zync Z-909 plus features a 7 inch touchscreen display, sporting a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera with video recording capabilities, Word/Excel/PDF support via third party apps, 256 MB RAM, 4 GB internal memory, MicroSd card slot, 16 GB expandable memory, MicroUSB, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G Connectivity via USB Dongle and a 3000 mAh battery.

Zync Z-909 plus comes with a price-tag of just Rs.3,699 (approx. $65). Zync also offers a one year warranty along with a pick up and drop facility.
