Vodafone To Launch 3G Services By March-End

Last year, Tata Docomo, Reliance Communications and Airtel launched their 3G services in India. Recently, Aircel joined the bandwagon and launched its 3G services in Chennai, Karnataka, UP East, Bihar and Kolkata circle. And now, Vodafone is expected to launch their 3G services by the end of Q1 of 2011. Back in October, Vodafone has already announced Nokia Siemens Networks and Ericsson India as partners for its 3G network across India.

Vodafone had grabbed 3G license for 9 circles Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai & Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra & Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh (East) and West Bengal. Vodafone will roll-out 3G Mobile and Data services in a phased manner by the end of March.

We have a 3G-ready network, currently in optimisation which we will be launching very quickly. Our approach is to give our customers a world class experience, we will launch 3G service a city-wise basis and not pan-India or circle-wise. Presently, trials of 3G service are on and the service is expected to be launched in a phased manner by Marchsaid Naveen Chopra, Vodafone Essar Director (Enterprise and Carrier Business).

Vodafone selected Nokia Siemens to manage its 3G HSPA network in Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra, UP(East), Rest of Bengal and Haryana circle. While the company selected Ericsson to provide 3G HSPA services in the remaining circles. Stay tuned for more updates on Vodafone 3G services and plans.

    If you speak, the Vodafone 3G is quite late in launching the 3G services. Let hope they launch some superb plans for users.
