Samsung To Launch The Galaxy Tab In India On October 29
By on October 26th, 2010

The folks over at CellPassion have apparently received an invitation from Samsung for an upcoming press conference to be held by them on October 29. The Invite says “let’s tab….let’s talk”. From this tag line, it is pretty clear that Samsung will be unveiling their latest creation the Samsung Galaxy Tab in India.  Samsung_Galaxy_Tab

The Galaxy Tab sports a 7-inch S-LCD screen made of Gorilla glass with a resolution of 1024×600. The tablet is powered by a 1GHz Hummingbird processor and packs 512MB of RAM and 8/16GB of internal memory. The Tab runs on Android 2.2 with TouchWIZ 3.0 UI on top of it.

Rumors suggest that Samsung will be pricing the Galaxy Tab at around Rs. 40,000.   It will be interesting to see if Samsung launches a subsidized carrier version of the Galaxy Tab with some packaged data plans in India.

Since at its rumored price the Galaxy Tab will be priced higher than the iPad, I doubt the Galaxy Tab will find many takers.
