Samsung today launched its first tablet device, the Samsung Galaxy Tab in India. This device is powered by Android 2.2 (FroYo) Operating System. India is one of the first three markets where in the world where the Galaxy Tab is being launched. Samsung Galaxy Tab has been customized to meet the needs of Indian consumers in terms of its applications.

“The Samsung Galaxy tab is a leading example of digital convergence .It is set to change the lifestyle of our Indian consumers the way they work, they play, the way they spend their time at home and the way they carry their world with them. The launch of the Samsung Galaxy tab today marks the beginning of a new era in communication,” said Mr. B D Park, Director, Samsung India.

“The Samsung GALAXY Tab has made rich communication truly mobile; it presents a level of converged technology that moves beyond mobile or PC to an entirely new category. Users have new powers to consume, create and communicate from wherever they are,” states Mr. Ranjit Yadav , Director-Mobile & IT.

Samsung Galaxy Tab features a 7 inch TFT-LCD touchscreen display with 1024×600 pixels resolution, Android 2.2 operating system, TouchWIZ 3.0 UI, 1GHz Cortex A8 application processor, 512MB RAM, 16GB of internal memory, 32GB expandable memory, 4000mAH battery and more.

Samsung Galaxy Tab comes with a price tag of Rs.38,000. Leading Indian operators like Airtel, Aircel, Vodafone, Tata Docomo and RCom are soon expected to announce exciting offers and data plans with the Galaxy Tab. This powerful device will be available in India from November 10.
