BlackBerry smartphones are not only used by professionals, but they are also used by students in India. Most of them does not need the BlackBerry Enterprise services, hence paying Rs.500 – Rs.1,000 only for the use of BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) was not the perfect solution. To solve this problem, Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and Tata Docomo launched the “Unlimited BBM” plan for Rs.129. As the name suggest, the Unlimited BBM plan allows the BlackBerry users to use unlimited BBM service.
Reliance Communications (RCom) has announced a similar “Only BBM” plan for its subscribers in India. The new Only BBM plan is available for both prepaid and postpaid subscribers. This plan allows Reliance subscribers to use unlimited BBM service on their BlackBerry smartphones for 30 days. Apart from the unlimited BBM usage, Reliance also offers 600 local and national SMS per month for prepaid subscribers and 500 local and national SMS per month for postpaid subscribers.
To activate the Only BBM plan, prepaid subscribers will need to send a text to 53739 with the keyword ‘ACT BBMPRS129’. On the other hand, postpaid subscribers will need to call *389 from their Reliance phone or 1800 3000 8989 from any other phone. The unlimited BBM plan offered by Reliance is much better than the plans offered by other operators, since you will not only get unlimited BBM usage but also free local and national SMS.
