Zync Launches The Z-909 Plus Android Tablet In India For Just Rs.3,699

Earlier this month, Zync launched the entry-level Zync Z-999 tablet in India for just Rs.11,990. Now, the company went a step ahead and announced its entry into the sub 4K segment with the launch its newest tablet, the Zync Z-909 plus. Unlike the Zync Z-999, this handset does not runs on the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS. The Zync Z-909 plus is powered by the old Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, thanks to its low-end specs. This tablet comes pre-loaded with Angry Birds, Ibibo and BigFlix apps.

Ashish Garg, Director, Zync Global Private Limited, said:
“Owing to the fierce competition in the tablet market with many players entering this category, we felt the need to introduce a product which does not burn a hole in the consumers pocket, yet possesses the latest technologies at an affordable cost. After having launched our earlier products in the range of 8000-1200K, we felt the sub 4K segment was fairly untouched and hence we saw the opportunity to introduce a product in the price bracket of 4K.”

Zync Z-909 plus features a 7 inch touchscreen display, sporting a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera with video recording capabilities, Word/Excel/PDF support via third party apps, 256 MB RAM, 4 GB internal memory, MicroSd card slot, 16 GB expandable memory, MicroUSB, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G Connectivity via USB Dongle and a 3000 mAh battery.

Zync Z-909 plus comes with a price-tag of just Rs.3,699 (approx. $65). Zync also offers a one year warranty along with a pick up and drop facility. This tablet will be available across 22 states through its distributor network Balaji Solutions. Sony Xperia Neo L Up For Pre-Order In India For Rs.18,499

Earlier this year, Sony unveiled the Xperia S, Xperia P, Xperia U and Xperia Arc S smartphones in the NXT series. However, these smartphones are shipped with the old Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) Operating System. The Sony Xperia Neo L is the company’s first smartphone which runs on the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System. This mid-range device comes with 4 inch display, 1GHz processor, 5 megapixel camera and so on.

The specs of this device is quite similar to the prviously launched Neo V. The only difference is a large display and 4 hardware buttons on the bottom of the device. Flipkart, a popular online retailer is currently taking the pre-order of the Xperia Neo L. This handset is scheduled to release by the end of this month.

Intex Launches The Android 4.0 Powered i-Buddy Tablet For Rs.6,490

Intex recently launched its second tablet device, the Intex i-Buddy. The company’s first tablet was Intex i-Tab, which had a 8 inch touchscreen display, while the new Intex i-Buddy comes with a 7 inch touchscreen display. Thankfully, this device runs on the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System. The Intex i-Buddy is specially targeted at the youth and urban professionals. This device is touted to be the slimmest 7 inch tablet in India.

Intex i-Buddy comes with a price tag of just Rs.6,490. This tablet will compete with other entry-level Android tablets such as IRA Thing 2, Karbonn Smart Tab 1 and Micromax Funbook in the Indian market. Intex i-Buddy is currently available for purchase only in South India through its network of 7 branch offices, 20 superstockists, 50 distributors and 2,500 retailers. The company is planning launch this device in other parts of India in the coming months.

Reliance Launches The Unlimited BBM Plan For Just Rs.129

BlackBerry smartphones are not only used by professionals, but they are also used by students in India. Most of them does not need the BlackBerry Enterprise services, hence paying Rs.500 – Rs.1,000 only for the use of BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) was not the perfect solution. To solve this problem, Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and Tata Docomo launched the “Unlimited BBM” plan for Rs.129. As the name suggest, the Unlimited BBM plan allows the BlackBerry users to use unlimited BBM service.

Reliance Communications (RCom) has announced a similar “Only BBM” plan for its subscribers in India. The new Only BBM plan is available for both prepaid and postpaid subscribers. This plan allows Reliance subscribers to use unlimited BBM service on their BlackBerry smartphones for 30 days. Apart from the unlimited BBM usage, Reliance also offers 600 local and national SMS per month for prepaid subscribers and 500 local and national SMS per month for postpaid subscribers.

To activate the Only BBM plan, prepaid subscribers will need to send a text to 53739 with the keyword ‘ACT BBMPRS129′. On the other hand, postpaid subscribers will need to call *389 from their Reliance phone or 1800 3000 8989 from any other phone. The unlimited BBM plan offered by Reliance is much better than the plans offered by other operators, since you will not only get unlimited BBM usage but also free local and national SMS.

Samsung Omnia M Goes On Sale In India For Rs.17,990
