Panasonic Inaugurates New ‘Eco Ideas’ Factory In Jhajjar Haryana

Panasonic India recently invited us to the inauguration of their new manufacturing unit in Jhajjar, Haryana. It is the country’s first and Asia Pacific’s sixth ‘eco ideas’ factory. The construction of Panasonic Technopark was started in April 2011 and has an initial manufacturing capacity of over 1,000,000 sets of air conditioners, 400,000 sets of washing machines and 25,000 sets of welding and cutting machines per annum.

The Panasonic Technopark in Jhajjar was inaugurated by Haryana’s chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Panasonic ‘eco ideas’ brand ambassador Dia Mirza. The two phase project will be completed by 2018 and it will provide employment to 1500 staffs in its first phase and around 2000 staffs in the second phase. Apart from that, the company offers vocational trainings to improve technical skills of people working in and around the facility and help them increase their employment opportunities. This facility brings economic growth and social benefits to the region.

The Panasonic Technopark is designed with various green features, including a 28.29 KWp solar modules installation at the rooftop of the office, entrance canopy and car park to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, and a 100% water recycling system for a sustainable water provision. Panasonic will also implement initiatives that focus on three key areas, which include CO2 emissions reduction, waste management and recycling and chemical substance usage.

Mr. Daizo Ito, President, Panasonic India said:
“The opening of this factory will fuel our first priority goal in India of doubling Panasonic’s revenue in fiscal 2012-2013. We plan to achieve this by focusing on three core strategies: pursuing our company vision of becoming the No. 1 Green Innovation Company in the Electronics Industry by 2018; integrating Indian expertise into our product design and manufacturing processes; and increasing focus on rural development.”

Panasonic will not only sell these eco-friendly products in the Indian market, but it will also export these products to other markets like Middle East and Africa. The company is planning to export 5% of its products by next year and will gradually increase up to 20% by the end of 2015.

Currently, Panasonic has a workforce of about 12,650 people in India. The company is expecting a sales revenue of Rs. 10,000 crore from its Indian operations during 2012-13. LG Optimus L9 Launched In India For Rs.23,000

Today, LG finally launched the Android powered Optimus L9 smartphone in India. It is the company’s fourth device in the L-series family of smartphones. This handset was already available for pre-order from the last week in India. The LG Optimus L9 runs on the old Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System. This handset is designed around five primary aesthetic elements: Modern Square Style, Floating Mass Technology, Seamless Layout, Harmonized Design Contrast and Sensuous Slim Shape.

Samsung Galaxy Camera Launched In India For Rs.29,990

Samsung Galaxy Camera is the company’s first Android powered digital camera. It runs on the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Operating System out of the box. Samsung Galaxy Camera was originally unveiled and showcased at the IFA 2012 in Berlin. Sony Xperia J And Xperia Miro Launched In India

Along with the Xperia SL, Sony has also launched the mid-range Xperia J and Xperia Miro smartphones in India. Both the handsets are powered by the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System. Sony Xperia J is a budget smartphone targeted at the emerging market of Asia including India. On the other hand, Xperia Miro is targeted at the Facebook users who spend most of their time updating status and getting connected with their friends on the go. Sony recently launched the Xperia SL smartphone in India. This handset is basically the upgraded variant of the popular Xperia S smartphone. It comes with a 4.3 inch HD display, 1.7 GHz dual-core processor, 32 GB internal memory and much more. Sony Xperia SL runs on the Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System. Airtel Launches 4G Services In Pune

We have good news for the folks living in Pune. Earlier this year, Airtel rolled out its 4G services in Kolkata followed by Bengaluru. Now, Airtel went a step ahead and launched the much-awaited 4G services in Pune. Airtel is also the first company in Maharashtra to bring the 4G experience for its customers. Currently, Airtel 4G services are exclusively available for the post-paid customers, however the company has promised that pre-paid subscribers will be able to join the bandwagon in the coming days.

Mr. K Srinivas, President – Consumer Business, Bharti Airtel said,
“Today, we are excited to launch Maharashtra’s first 4G experience for Airtel customers in Pune. The response received by Airtel 4G services in Kolkata and Bengaluru has been compelling – thus reinforcing our long term focus on delivering technologies to fulfil the needs of India’s rapidly growing data evolution story. In 2010, Airtel had successfully bid for BWA license spectrum in Kolkata, Karnataka, Punjab and Maharashtra (excluding Mumbai) circles. Additionally, Airtel acquired 49 percent interest in Qualcomm AP’s India entities that hold BWA licenses in Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala. The company has already launched its 4G LTE services in Kolkata, Bengaluru and Maharashtra (Pune) and is currently working towards rolling out the 4G network in remaining licence circles.

Airtel customers in Pune can check the availability of Airtel 4G services in their area online through the Google Maps interface and buy the services online. Airtel’s 4G services allows the users to access High Definition (HD) videos, multiple chatting, instant uploading of photos, rich content and much more. The postpaid plans in Pune are similar to the plans available in Kolkata and Bengaluru circles. Airtel offers 3 different 4G plans starting at Rs.999 for 6 GB of free data, going up to Rs.1,999 for 18 GB of free data usage.

Micromax Funbook Infinity Launched In India For Rs.6,699

After launching the entry-level Funbook, Funbook Pro and Funbook Alpha tablets, Micromax is back with the company’s fourth tablet device, the Micromax Funbook Infinity. As expected, this device runs on the Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System. Funbook Infinity packs a 7 inch touchscreen display as well as a 1.2 GHz processor. The speaker is placed on the front of this device, similar to the previously launched Samsung Note 800 (10.1).

Samsung Galaxy Camera Coming To India Next Month

Yesterday, Samsung launched the much-awaited Galaxy Note II at an event in Hyderabad, India. During the same event, Samsung has also showcased and announced the availability of the company’s first Android powered digital camera, the Samsung Galaxy Camera. This device was announced last month at the IFA 2012 in Berlin. It is the company’s second device which runs on the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Operating System.

According to Samsung India, the much-awaited Galaxy Camera will arrive in India before Diwali. As we already know that Diwali is during mid-November, so the Android powered digital camera is expected to go on sale from late-October. I’m sure most of you might be eagerly waiting to get their hands on this amazing device. Sadly, Samsung has not yet announced the price of this device in India.
