Indian Cricket Team Captain MS Dhoni will no longer be seen endorsing Aircel’s latest social networking handset INQ. Aircel is now running a new INQ advertisement which does not feature MS Dhoni .
Aircel was forced to take this step by Maxx Mobile Communications as Maxx had signed MS Dhoni for its advertisement. Mumbai-based company Maxx Mobile Communications, which owns Maxx Mobile brand, immediately took note of the INQ ads and asked telecom service provider Aircel to pull the commercial off air.
According to Mr K Rasool, head, marketing, Maxx mobile,
We have communicated our stand to Mindscapes Maestros, the agency that manages Dhoni, asking them to discontinue the advertisement which has Dhoni endorsing INQ handset as it breaches category exclusivity in the handsets space
In response to the action taken by Maxx Mobiles, an Aircel spokesperson said,
MS Dhoni is our brand ambassador for Aircel. Therefore, he endorses all products and services for Aircel. However, when we were informed by MS Dhoni’s agent that he is endorsing Maxx for IPL, keeping the sensitivity and his honour in mind, we withdrew him from this particular advertisement

Samsung has launched the S5620 handset aka Samsung Monte in India for an affordable price of Rs 8,850. The 3G touchscreen phone which is powered by the Touch Wiz 2.0 OS by Samsung also has a 3.2MP camera and support for up-to 16GB microUSB card.
Samsung S5620 Monte also comes with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, giving users the ability to access several social networking sites including Twitter and Facebook through their internet connection.
Samsung Monte has a 3.0 inch wide-screen WQVGA display which will makes watching videos on the go a delight. The phone also comes with support for GPS. The best part about the phone though is it’s pricing which is pretty affordable in the Indian market.
A phone from Samsung selling for only Rs 8.850 definitely takes the cake and eats it too, to top it the phone is full of features which an everyday user would love to have. The only problem with the phone though is that the initial memory is only 200 MB so users would have to spend a few extra bucks to store videos and songs, but considering that phone memory is pretty cheap these days users won’t have to spend a lot more to add that.

I’m sure that the title may have shocked you, but this is seriously not an April Fool joke. Vodafone has started charging 50 paisa for 3 minutes, if you need any help from the customer care executive. Vodafone subscribers in all the telecom circles will have to pay a nominal charge for 50 paisa every time they call the customer care for any help or service related queries.
According to Telecom Talk, “The Government’s directive to telecom companies while giving out licences explicitly stated customer service calls should be TOLL-FREE. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has not yet approved the companies request to charge subscribers for their calls to Customer Care.”
Earlier Airtel and Loop Mobile started charging their subscribers for calling customer care executives and now Vodafone also joined the bandwagon. Vodafone has always been known for providing excellent Customer Care service to their subscribers across India, but this decision may go against them.
Let’s wait till the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) is being implemented in India, after that we can easily find out the real winner of the telecom race.
