Research In Motion (RIM) today launched the Berry Bold 9780 smartphone in India. BlackBerry Bold 9780 is the newest addition to the BlackBerry Bold series of smartphones. It is also the first BlackBerry Bold smartphone which runs on the new BlackBerry 6 operating system. This handset features a premium and iconic design with an easy-to-use QWERTY keyboard, optical trackpad and advanced multimedia features.

Instant Mobile Payment Service Coming To Seven Indian Banks

Mobile Internet is catching up with Indian users at a rate which Desktop internet has not been able to match yet. According to a recent report, the Indian youth finds mobile Internet as one of their favorite pastimes.

Given the massive growth of Mobile users in the country, The National Payment Corporation of India is launching an instant mobile payment service   (IMPS) that will enable retail customers of seven banks to enjoy inter-bank funds transfers – 24 hours a day & 7 days a week.

Soon, Long queues of customers at bank branches to transfer money may become a thing of the past. If IMPS catches up with the users like Facebook did, then in the long run, customers may not have to worry at all for change to pay auto/ taxi fare and the neighbourhood vegetable vendor. The mobile phone will take care of everything.

As of now the seven banks which will be able to provide it’s customers with IMPS are State Bank of India, Bank of India, Union Bank of India, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank and YES Bank.

Apart from these 7 banks, 22 more banks are in the preliminary phase of getting ready to provide their customers with the IMPS. Utmost care has been taken to make sure that the mobile banking application runs on all handsets – be it low-end or high-end.

Nokia To Include Fishery & Poultry Sectors In It’s Life Tools Suite

Nokia Life Tools is a service from Nokia that offers a wide range of agriculture information and education services through SMS to Indian users. Lot of farmers and mid-level businessmen in India have been benefiting from Nokia’s Life Tools services. This service has been now a hit among users and Nokia is getting encouraging response from both urban and rural consumers across the country regarding it.

In order to make Nokia Life Tools more useful to it’s consumers, the company (Nokia) is working closely with various Central Government and State Government departments to extend the Life Tools service in a lot of new sectors such as the fishery and poultry industry in India. Nokia is also in close talks with the Spices and Rubber Boards in Kerala to bring the Life Tools service to these industries too!

According to Mr Natesh B.V. (Director Emerging Markets Services for Nokia Mobile Solutions), around five million users across the India are already using the Life Tools service which was introduced during June in 2009. He feels that the ever-growing handset market in India will be a big reason for increase in the mobile consumer base in the coming years.

Vodafone Essar, today announced the launch of a new service for all its customers in Mumbai which allows them to purchase a new Vodafone prepaid or postpaid connection from the comfort of their home through Vodafone eShop. In just seven easy steps, customers can now get new Vodafone prepaid or postpaid connection delivered at their doorsteps.

Speaking about this new service, Rohit Adya, Chief Executive Officer, Vodafone Essar, Mumbai said, Vodafone continues to innovate and provide greater value to its customers. This service will offer our customers an access to Vodafone connection through its e-shop and stay connected. This enables our consumers to access our services and products anytime anywhere.

Follow the 7 easy steps given below:

  1. Log on to www.vodafone.in
  2. Choose Mumbai as your circle
  3. Go to eShop on the home screen
  4. Click on the New Prepaid/Postpaid Connection Option on the eShop home screen
  5. Choose from one of the various Vodafone lucrative per second or per minute tariff plans
  6. Customers will be directed to a page where they can choose their favorite number from among an exhaustive list of prepaid/postpaid connection numbers
  7. Customers can proceed to pay online via Credit/Debit card

Customers can even select the tariff plan that suits your needs. The prepaid connection card will be delivered to the customer with in 24 hours of purchasing it from Vodafone eShop. A duly filled application form will be collected from the customer along with the necessary address & identity proof. The connection will be activated post acceptance of the relevant documents. This service is currently available only for customers in Mumbai circle.

BlackBerry Bold 9780 Now Available In India For Rs.26,900

We have already told you about the Blackberry Bold 9780. This phone from RIM looks similar to the BlackBerry 9700 Bold and is rooted as the most possible successor to the 9700 Bold.   Bold 9780 also runs RIM’s latest operating system – BlackBerry OS 6. LG Optimus One Launched In India For Rs 13500

LG Optimus OneLG’s most popular Android phone to date, the LG Optimus One P500 has been launched in India. It is now available for just Rs. 13500, which makes it one of the best budget Android phones in India.

LG hasn’t had much success with its Android lineup, but the Optimus One has been seeing spectacular sales. It just passed the 1 million milestone a week back.

Aircel To Launch 3G Services In Early 2011

Earlier this month, Tata Docomo started their 3G services in India. Few days ago, Airtel and Reliance also announced their 3G services in India. Both Airtel and Reliance will start their 3G services before the year end. And now Aircel has joined the bandwagon of the announcement of 3G services.

Aircel recently announced that, it will start its 3G services in 140 cities across 13 circles in January-February 2011, with an investment of $500 million and would invest another $500 million to expand its 2G network across the country. Aircel has won 3G license for 13 telecom circles in India Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kolkata, Kerala, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh (East), West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar, Orissa, Assam and North East.

If you are an Aircel customer, then you may have to wait for a couple of months to enjoy 3G services in your 3G enabled smartphones. Tata Docomo already launched their 3G services in India. On the other hand Reliance, S-Tel, Idea and Airtel will launch their 3G services before the year end. Vodafone and Aircel are the only operators, to launch their 3G services early next year.
