Last year, Motorola launched the entry level, semi-rugged smartphone, the Motorola Defy. This handset is powered by the Android 2.1 operating system. We have a good news for those, who were eagerly waiting for the launch of this powerful phone in India. According to our friends at AndroidOS.in, this device will be launched on January 24th in India.

Motorola Defy comes with a 3.7 inch WVGA display with 480 x 854 pixels resolution, Android 2.1 (Eclair) operating system, 800 MHz processor, MOTOBLUR, 5 megapixel camera with digital zoom and flash, Stereo Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, MicroUSB, DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G connectivity and more.

Other features include a 3.5 mm headset jack, A-GPS, Google Maps Navigation, Android Market, 512 of RAM, 2 GB internal memory, 2 GB microSD card included, MicroSD card slot, 32 GB expandable memory, Android Media Player, FM Radio, Ambient light, proximity sensor, up to 6.8 hours talktime, up to 9.9 days stand-by time and a 1540 mAh battery

This handset measures 59 x 107 x 13.4 mm and weighs 118 grams. Motorola Defy is dust and water resistant and it comes with the famous Gorilla Glass display. This device is expected to come with price tag of around Rs.20,000.
