Some major handset makers such as Samsung and Huawei are expected to announce a phone/tablet hybrid device with a large 6 inch display at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013 in Las Vegas. However, the Indian mobile phone manufacturer Karbonn went a step ahead and launched the world’s first smartphone with a large 5.9 inch display!
The Karbonn A30 is a dual-SIM smartphone, which runs on the old Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System. The price of this device is nowhere close to our favorite phablet, the Galaxy Note II. Karbonn has also pre-loaded some useful apps such as Facebook, WhatsApp, PayTM, Saavn and Karbonn Smart.
Shashin Devsare, Executive Director, Karbonn Mobiles, said,
“By devising the Karbonn A30 – Ta Fone, our endeavour is to form the world’s first 5.9” screen smartphone which blurs the differentiation between a Tablet and a Smartphone and creates a hybrid category of devices which is sure to see a lot of buzz in times to come.”
