Intex recently launched its second tablet device, the Intex i-Buddy. The company’s first tablet was Intex i-Tab, which had a 8 inch touchscreen display, while the new Intex i-Buddy comes with a 7 inch touchscreen display. Thankfully, this device runs on the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System. The Intex i-Buddy is specially targeted at the youth and urban professionals. This device is touted to be the slimmest 7 inch tablet in India.

Intex i-Buddy features a 7 inch touchscreen display, sporting a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, 1 GHz processor, Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System, front-facing camera for video video, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal memory, microSD card slot, 32 GB expandable memory, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G Connectivity via USB Dongle, Adobe Flash 11.1 and a 2350 mAh battery. This device measures 9mm thick and weighs just 316 grams. Sadly, the battery is reported to last for just 3 hrs.
Intex i-Buddy comes with a price tag of just Rs.6,490. This tablet will compete with other entry-level Android tablets such as IRA Thing 2, Karbonn Smart Tab 1 and Micromax Funbook in the Indian market. Intex i-Buddy is currently available for purchase only in South India through its network of 7 branch offices, 20 superstockists, 50 distributors and 2,500 retailers. The company is planning launch this device in other parts of India in the coming months.
