Earlier this year, Vodafone and Airtel launched the “Only BBM Plan” for its pre-paid and postpaid subscribers at an affordable price of Rs.129. As the name suggest, the only BBM Plan allows the BlackBerry users to use unlimited BBM service without burning a hole in their pocket. BlackBerry smartphones are not only used by professionals, but they are also used by students in India. Most of them does not need the BlackBerry Enterprise services, hence paying around Rs.600 only for the use of BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) was not the perfect solution.
Last year, Tata Indicom also launched the BlackBerry messaging services(MailLite) and BlackBerry Internet Service starting at Rs.99 and Rs.199 respectively. After Airtel, Vodafone and Tata Indicom, the next operator to join the bandwagon is Idea Cellular. The company recently launched the new “Only BBM 99” plan. This service allows the Idea subscribers to use unlimited BBM service on their BlackBerry smartphones.
Currently, the Only BBM 99 plan is available only for the postpaid subscribers in Gujarat circle. However, we are sure that the operator will roll out the Only BBM 99 plan for its post-paid as well as prepaid subscribers in all its telecom circle. The unlimited BBM plans offered by Airtel and Vodafone costs Rs.129, while the Idea’s unlimited plan is available for just Rs.99. We also hope that other subscribers will soon offer the unlimited BBM plan at an affordable price.
Airtel offers 300 local + national SMS in its Only BBM Plan, but the Idea subscribers won’t get any text messages under this plan. This plan is valid for just 30 days. To activate this plan, post-paid Idea subscribers in Gujarat circle can SMS ACTBBM99 to 12345. If you have any queries, feel free to ask us in the comments section below.
