Back in November, Tata Docomo launched its 3G services in India. Tata Docomo was the first private operator to offer 3G data services and video calls in India. Soon after that, other private operators such as Reliance and Airtel joined the bandwagon. Recently, Aircel launched its 3G services in Chennai. And now, within few days of its launch, Aircel announced the launch of its 3G services in Karnataka, UP East and Kolkata circle.
The Aircel subscribers in Chennai, Karnataka, UP East and Kolkata circle can now try the new 3G services on their 3G enabled smartphones. To try 3G services on your Aircel number, just SMS TRY 3Gto 121 or SMS START 3Gto 121. Aircel subscribers will get 250 MB of data and 50 minutes of video calling for free. This offer is valid for both prepaid and postpaid customers.
Aircel has won 3G license for 13 telecom circles in India Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kolkata, Kerala, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh (East), West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar, Orissa, Assam and North East. Out of which, the company has launched its 3G services only in 4 telecom circles. Aircel is expected to launch its 3G services in the remaining 9 circles before the end of Q1 of 2011. Even Idea and Vodafone is expected to offer their 3G services before the end of March.
