  1. Here is a better alternative font.

In this font, the rupee sign is mapped to Unicode Rs symbol, so if the font is not present in the PC where a document containing this symbol is viewed, then the old Rs sign will be shown, which is better then showing a accent sign in place of Rs sign.

  2. Hi,

new symbol is good for india. But this symbolised values does not sums, or multiplies up the figures in excel as (`) is a character which excel function does not reads , just like $ pound symbol or euro.

A little more effort is required and we can surely achieve.

    1. How is it totally a copy of the Dollar sign?
In fact if thought with a perspective to match the symbols then even Euro and Pound looks similar to the Dollar and probably to each other.
The symbol as per my view very much reflects the feel of India in its look and at the same time is easy to put it on paper.
