There are several times when you may want to covert images from one format to another, however doing so individually can cost you a lot of time, and a batch image converter would definitely come in handy.
A handy freeware [1] called Batch Image Converter, will allow you to convert batches of images from one format to another.

Batch image converter supports conversion from 30 image file formats, including GIF, BMP, JPEG, PNG, RAW and PSD and converts the images into any of the following formats BMP, JPG, PCX, PNG, PNM, RAW, SGI, TGA, TIF.
The software runs on Windows, *Nix and Mac.
