It’s the time of the year when you pull pranks on your friends making a fool out of them, we did try our best to fool readers with a article we released just a bit earlier than April Fools’ Day, if you are not yet aware, our Microsoft Windows Goes Open Source post was a April Fool prank on you

CADIE (Cognitive Autoheuristic Distributed-Intelligence Entity)
Google is known to come up with some seriously funny April Fool pranks, this year is no different and their April Fool prank involves the announcement of CADIE.
Since then progress has been rapid, and tonight we’re pleased to announce that just moments ago, the world’s first Cognitive Autoheuristic Distributed-Intelligence Entity (CADIE) was switched on and began performing some initial functions. It’s an exciting moment that we’re determined to build upon by coming to understand more fully what CADIE’s emergence might mean, for Google and for our users. So although CADIE technology will be rolled out with the caution befitting any advance of this magnitude, in the months to come users can expect to notice her influence on various google.com properties.

Google Operating system, the blog you should follow for knowing anything and everything about Google, has come up with a prank, which suggests that Google will be adding two buttons to their homepage which will allow users to Search Yahoo and Live
, in the process doing away with the I’m Feeling Lucky button.

YouTube Upside Down Videos
YouTube was not to be left behind playing pranks on its users, videos started to show up upside down, including everything else on the page.
The folks at YouTube proposed a new viewing experience, where you had to turn your monitor upside down, tilt your neck or move to Australia to view the videos properly
.
You can view the new viewing experience by clicking on any of the featured videos on YouTube homepage, or adding a extra parameter “&flip=1” to the original YouTube URL.
Gmail Autopilot
Gmail users could not be left behind, and the announcement of Gmail Autopilot a feature that will allow you to automatically respond to messages.
Looking at the replies of the autopilot, I definitely would not want this thing anywhere near my Gmail account

Floating Amazon Cloud Computing
Amazon has taken the literal meaning of cloud computing to its reality by designing the “Floating Amazon Cloud Environment”.
The FACE uses durable, unmanned helium-filled blimps with a capacity of 65,536 small EC2 instances, or a proportionate number of larger instances. The top of each blimp is coated in polycrystalline solar cells which supply approximately 40% of the power needed by the servers and the on-board navigation, communication, and defense systems. The remainder of the power is produced by clean, efficient solid oxide fuel cells. There’s enough fuel onboard to last about a month under normal operating conditions. Waste heat from the fuel cells and from the servers is used to generate additional lift.
LOL, they sure know how to play their pranks.
Warner Bros Acquire The Pirate Bay
TorrentFreak reports that Warner Bros has acquired The Pirate Bay for over $13 billion realizing their folly of having sued them in the first place.
After years of hostility, lawsuits, police raids and heated invective between the two groups, the Pirate Bay has today announced they have settled their differences with US media conglomerate Warner Bros. The largest BitTorrent tracker has sold out to Hollywood and the two have agreed a deal.
LOL, now that goes a long way in legalizing all the filmy torrents out there :-;
In other interesting pranks, Expedia the travel agency is allowing flights to Mars from $99 on the other hand if you are bored living on earth, Hotels.com now offers accommodation on the Moon.
On the social networking front, Digg’s algorithm for reaching the frontpage has been cracked, everyone can now get their websites to Digg frontpages, Identi.ca has acquired Twitter, a really sad day for Twitter users, reddit has changed it design and now looks like a Digg clone also naming themselves as reddigg
. Fark now have their own social networking site and no surprise that they have cloned Facebook to take the easy way out.
Woot is now selling crap today for $3 with a $1,000,000.00 shipping. Yahoo announces Ideological search, a groundbreaking new search filter that keeps controversy out of your search experience. The Guardian will be doing away with their print and online news and doing it the twitter way.
