Unlock Secret God Mode in Windows 7 [How To]

God Mode is not a special mode in Windows 7. God Mode in simple words, is a folder packed with shortcuts to just about every settings change and administrative function in Windows 7. Everything you will find in the Action Center, Backup and Restore, Autorun, Desktop Gadgets, Devices and Printers, is all stored at one central location, in God Mode folder. God Mode folder is one central location for easy access of all the features in Windows 7.

We will show you here, how to unlock and create a God Mode folder in 2 easy steps, in WIndows 7. Follow these steps:

  • Create a new folder anywhere (in any partition and inside any folder)
  • Rename the folder and paste in the following text: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

That’s it ! Now you will have a new folder named “GodMode”, with control panel icon on it. This folder is very handy for easy access. You can access shortcut to every feature in that folder by typing a few letters into the search box on your start menu.

    Nice….btw we can also rename GodMode to something else….like "Techie-Buzz" for instance…The shortcut will be renamed accordingly..

    nothing earth shattering. This has been there since Vista. But since everybody was busy finding flaws in Vista & the name “God Mode” sounds too good, it’s all over the Internet.

    Great tips. However, for some reason that only the gods of the blogosphere can explain, an old Windows trick has taken on new life.

    I think it is overrated.
