Hide Who To Follow Suggestions On Twitter

recently launched a new feature called "Who to Follow" where they display a list of suggestions of people you should be following on Twitter based on certain algorithms. Though this feature could be handy once in a while, it is always in your face whenever you visit the twitter web interface.

Twitter Who To Follow Suggestions List

Now the problem here is that Twitter does not provide users with an option to disable the suggestions list, and you will have to either use a browser extension or script to disable the "Who to follow" suggestions box on the Twitter web interface.

users have a choice with two different which will allow you to disable/hide or move the "Who To Follow" suggestions box. The Hide Twitter suggestions extension completely removes the suggestions box, whereas the Hide Twitter suggestions PLUS extension will move the box to the bottom of the sidebar so that it is not in your face every time.

If you are a , or Internet Explorer you can use a user style to hide the "Who to Follow" suggestions box in Twitter. To do that, open this link in the browser you are using and choose the options provided to you. If you are using Firefox or Internet Explorer you might need to install additional software or add-ons for your respective browser in order to use the User Style.

That’s it, till Twitter provides a way to disable the "Who To Follow" suggestions, you could use this trick to hide it from your web interface.

Enable Google Multi Sign-in Feature

Google has been recently testing multiple account sign-in, which would allow users to sign-in with multiple accounts to Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Reader, Google Sites and Google Code without having to sign-out of an account.

This feature has now been rolled out to users in phases and can be used to access multiple Google accounts. If you have not yet enable Google Multi Sign-in Feature, here are some simple steps for enabling the Google Multi Sign-in feature.

Step 1: Go to your Google Accounts Manage page (clicking on the link will take you there)

Google Multiple Sign-In Edit

Step 2: Click on the Edit link next to Multiple sign-in listed under Personal Settings. If you do not see the link it will be rolled out to your account shortly.

Enable Google Multi Account Sign-in

Step 3: On the Edit page, select the radio button next to "On – Use multiple Google Accounts in the same web browser." and then make selections from the checkboxes below after you have read the details. After you have done that, just click the "Save" button.

That’s it, you will now be able to check emails, calendar, docs and more from multi-account using a drop down provided at the top of the screen. If you want to add another account, just click on the down arrow key and click on the link which says Sign in to another account and then provide your login credentials to it.

If you want to disable the multiple account sign-in in Google, just follow the same instructions. However, in Step 2 click the Radio button next to "Off – Use on Google Account at a time"

This is definitely one of the most useful features I have seen with Google or any other service because it takes out the hassle of managing and maintaining several different accounts.

How to Update Windows XP to Service Pack 3

Just as my fellow author, Amit, had warned you, Microsoft has ended support for PCs running Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2). According to figures I’ve seen at InformationWeek, as many as 45% of Windows XP machines will need to update to SP3 in order to stay secure.

If you are running a PC that has not been updated yet, there’s no need to panic. Computers running SP2 will continue to work as usual. The end of support for SP2 simply means that those computers will not receive the most current security fixes from Microsoft’s update website or the automated updates.

Since it’s very important to keep your Windows up to date, how can you find out if your machine needs to update to SP3?

The quickest and easiest way to find out is a keyboard shortcut: [Windows key] [Pause/Break]

keyboard-win-break

Another way to view your current Windows version is to right click on a My Computermenu entry or desktop icon and choose the Propertiesitem in the list.

computer-properties

As a result of either of these actions, you should see your computer’s properties as shown below.

system-props-shown

If it says Service Pack 2, then you should use one of the links below to update your PC to SP3. I’ve included four ways to update and a brief description of each method.

A. Windows Update Website
Yes, it’s as easy as visiting Microsoft, however, you will need to use Internet Explorer because Microsoft hates to see you use any other type of web browser.

B. Service Pack 3 Network Install
Despite what the title implies, you can download this single executable file and it will install SP3 easily on any XP machine that needs it. The file is a bit over 300mb in size.

C. Service Pack 3 Add-on for Multi-Lingual Users
If you use languages other than English, you may need this file in addition to the download Babove. It’s only about 9mb in size.

D. Service Pack 3 ISO / CD Image
You can download this ISO file (CD image) and burn it to a CD. This makes it possible for you to have a backup copy and to use it on any XP machine that needs it. The file is over 500mb in size.

E. You can also order a CD from Microsoft by using one of the location links below:
Asia / Europe and Africa / North America / South America

Now, I’m feeling better after writing this important public service announcement. I hope you feel better too, after you’ve updated your old Windows XP machines.
