Firefox has a pretty decent bookmark management system that allows you to store your favorites websites, so that you can visit them in future.
Firefox saves your personal information such as bookmarks, passwords, and user preferences in a set of files called your profile, which is stored in a separate location from the Firefox program files.
Each profile is stored on your hard drive in a profile folder which is different for each user, the following table shows the default locations of Firefox profiles on various operating systems.
The corresponding profile folder is named xxxxxxxx.default, where xxxxxxxx represents a random string of 8 characters.
| Operating System | Profile Folder Path |
| Windows Vista/XP/2000 | %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\ |
| Windows 98/Me | C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\ |
Your bookmarks will be stored in a single file called bookmarks.html in this folder. You can also view a in-depth tutorial on How To Backup Bookmarks in Firefox, to learn how to backup your bookmarks in Firefox 2 and Firefox 3.
