Bing is suddenly sitting pretty much in a really good position, with Bing taking the second position over from Yahoo in both US and global traffic to search engines, this though should bring good news to webmasters since they would now get more traffic to their blogs or websites.

Like Google Webmaster Tools, Bing too has it’s own Webmaster center where users can submit their websites for indexing by Bing.

If you have been using Google Webmaster Tools, adding your website to Bing Webmaster Center is fairly easy, the steps to add sites are very similar, here are some steps on adding your website to Bing Webmaster Center.

Step 1: Login to Webmaster Center with your Windows Live account.

Step 2: Add your website to the Webmaster Center, you can also specify a sitemap, this is the same one that is used by Google, however providing a sitemap is optional.

Step 3: Verify your website, by using any one of the methods provided by Bing.

Step 4: Once you have authenticated your site, Bing will show you different statistics for your site, like the last date it was crawled, number of indexed pages and so on. Interestingly Bing also provides domain score and page score, how not really sure what it means will keep researching more on that.

You can continue adding as many websites you have to the Webmaster Center, hopefully Bing should bring in more traffic to all webmasters. Thanks Nirmal.

And what if I already added my blog to Windows Live Search? Do I need to add it again to Bing or… ?

Note: We discourage users from using keywords in their names while posting comments, most of them get caught by spam, also it really would be more fruitful in knowing people who comment by their real name, rather than by using a name no one relates to. In future we reserve the right to delete comments from users using a name other than their own.
