Google has been pretty fierce on globalization of their products, recently with the introduction of 38 languages for Google Calendar and many more such initiatives over the past few years.

Google today announced several new localizations for Tamil, a language spoken in southern India and Sri Lanka. This update involves several new features including Google Search in Tamil where users will get suggestions for the words they type in English automatically.

In addition to this Google has also included Tamil translations for Blogger and Tamil translations for Orkut, a popular social networking site in India. Google India is now available in the most popular languages including Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Marathi and Tamil, and we are sure to see many more languages being included in the future.

Note: We discourage users from using keywords in their names while posting comments, most of them get caught by spam, also it really would be more fruitful in knowing people who comment by their real name, rather than by using a name no one relates to. In future we reserve the right to delete comments from users using a name other than their own.
